The kick off meeting of the Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing took place in Coimbra on the 21st of January.

The main objective of this new institute is the creation of the first reference Centre in Southern Europe, focusing on the biological processes of ageing and on the design of new strategies to delay or surpress several chronic diseases associated with ageing.

This institute is lauched by the University of Coimbra in collaboration with CCDRC (Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro) and Instituto Pedro Nunes.
